1. Data We Collect

We collect only the data necessary to provide the service:

• Account information — email address, display name, and authentication credentials (via Google OAuth or email/password).
• Job application data — job titles, company names, job descriptions, application statuses, and notes you add to your pipeline.
• Experience Vault — work experience, skills, and education information you enter to power AI-generated resumes and cover letters.
• Usage data — anonymous error reports and performance metrics to help us improve the product (via Sentry).

2. Chrome Extension

The JobCommand browser extension helps you save job listings from job board websites. The extension:

• Reads the content of a job listing page only when you explicitly click the Save button in the extension popup.
• Sends the extracted job description text to our servers for parsing.
• Does not run in the background, track your browsing history, or read any page content without your action.
• Does not collect personal data from the web pages you visit.

3. How We Use Your Data

• Providing the service — storing your job pipeline, syncing data across devices, and displaying your dashboard and analytics.
• AI processing — job descriptions and your Experience Vault data are sent to Google Gemini (server-side only) to generate tailored cover letters, resumes, and interview preparation materials.
• Payment processing — if you subscribe to Pro, your payment is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card information.
• Error monitoring — anonymous error data is sent to Sentry to help us identify and fix bugs.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate JobCommand:

• Firebase (Google) — authentication, database (Firestore), and hosting. Your data is stored in Google Cloud infrastructure.
• Google Gemini — AI processing of job descriptions and vault data for generating career materials. Data is processed server-side and not used to train AI models.
• Stripe — secure payment processing for Pro subscriptions. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• Sentry — error tracking and performance monitoring. No personal data is intentionally sent to Sentry.

5. Data Storage and Security

• All user data is stored in Firebase Firestore, scoped to your user account. No other user can access your data.
• Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest (Google Cloud default encryption).
• Authentication is handled by Firebase Auth with industry-standard security practices.
• We do not store your passwords in plain text. If you use email/password login, passwords are managed by Firebase Auth.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. Your data is only shared with the third-party services listed above, solely to provide the JobCommand service.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data — all your data is visible in the app at any time.
• Export your data — you can export your data from the Settings page.
• Delete your data — you can delete all your data and your account from the Settings page (Danger Zone). This action is irreversible.
• Withdraw consent — you can stop using the service at any time. Deleting your account removes all stored data.

For GDPR and similar data protection regulations: we process your data based on your consent (creating an account) and the legitimate interest of providing the service you signed up for.

8. Cookies

JobCommand uses only essential cookies and local storage for authentication and app state (such as your session and preferences). We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
